Most ear, nose and throat complaints settle within ten days. When they do not, an examination with proper instruments usually identifies a treatable cause.

Symptoms that warrant a specialist review

  • Ear pain or discharge lasting more than three days
  • Hearing loss in one ear, or persistent ringing
  • Facial pain and nasal blockage beyond ten days
  • Loud snoring with pauses in breathing during sleep
  • Hoarseness lasting more than three weeks

What to expect at the clinic

We perform otoscopy, nasal endoscopy where indicated, and hearing assessment. Most patients leave with a clear diagnosis and treatment on the same visit.

Never insert cotton buds or oils into a painful ear before review — it complicates both diagnosis and treatment.
